Filler-Nicaraguan Long Leaves
So today I,m doing a written review in place of a video review because I neglected to save a copy of my video when I recorded last night, so stupid me I decided I needed to be consistent with my days I place a review on my site so sorry but this is all you get today but I will be back Friday with a video review.
Pre Light- The construction of the Padilla Cazadores Toro Gorda was very nice the wrapper had a nice oil sheen to it, it was packed very solid the only bad thing I can say was there were two very tiny blemishes like a tear at the foot of the cigar. The aroma from the wrapper was an earthy tobacco note as well as the same on the foot. The pre light draw was very loose and I got an earthy note.
1st Third- I got lots of earthy and leather notes right from the start of my Padilla Cazadores. The draw was loose but controllable and create lots of beautiful white smoke that filled the air with a nice aroma of tobacco. The ash was solid and tight with a greyish and white color to it, the burn was good with a small little wavy spot. On the retrohale I picked up a slight cinnamon note.
2nd Third-The earthy and leather notes were still there with the leather being the main component. Still continued to get the cinnamon when exhaling thru my nasal passage. Burn got wavy at midway and I had to touch up the Padilla Cazadores once but nothing really major. The loose draw continued to make it easy to smoke as the entire room filled with a white cloud of smoke. I started picking up a small cedar note every other puff it seemed which was very pleasant. The ash was strong holding on about 1 inch every time before falling off.
Final Third- A nice smooth smoke with leather and cedar becoming the main notes the earthy note left as well as the cinnamon on the retrohale. The burn continued to need some attention but it was nothing that made the experience bad. Beautiful greyish white ash and awesome aroma of sweet tobacco.
Conclusion- The Padilla Cazadores Toro Gorda is a beautiful smoke with notes of leather, earth, cedar and cinnamon. A smooth and flawless draw with a strong and solid greyish white ash. This is a medium body smoke that just goes great in the afternoon with a nice smooth light coffee. The only thing I have to say negative about this smoke was the burn which again really didn’t take that much attention. So please go out and try the Padilla Cazadores line and remember enjoy.
