MikesStogies Top 10 of 2010

Ok so like most sites out there it’s that time were we all do our top 10 cigars for the year. Now before anyone gets crazy and says what the heck are you thinking in regards to my top 10 just remember this is MY top choices doesn’t mean I,m the ah mighty wizard of oz (lol) just what I smoked this year and this is my rating. So I,ll explain a little how I came to this rating and what I looked for to get this list. Also I didn’t put the size as my favorite because as most of you know I prefer bigger ring gauges.

1. Consistency, was my top rating. Was the cigar the same every time I smoked it.

2. Flavor, was the flavor notes somewhat complex not one-dimensional.

3. Price, was the cigar for my money worth the price regarding the two above.

I kept this very simple but it’s what I gauge my smoking experience on and yet I was unable to get my hands on every new release so I had to be honest and base this top 10 off of what I smoked. I hope you enjoy this and remember Enjoy Your Smokes.

  1. Definitely some good smokes there, Mike. I don’t agree with all of them, but…if we agreed on all these things, cigar shops would need to carry a very limited stock! :)

In reality, there’s only 1 stick on your list that I would say “No, thanks” to if it were offered to me (I’ll withhold the identity of that stick)…you’ve got yourself a solid line-up there.

    • David I respect your thoughts and you are correct if we all agreed we be robots lol. My list I stand behind using the three guidelines I set and my number 1 is awesome everytime I pick it ip being a month or year always the same. FYI dm me I would love to know the one between you and me. Thanks

  2. Nice list, Mike. Haven’t tried the Avo Heritage or LE 2010, but I have noticed that they are making quite a few lists. Illusione is obviously one if your favorites as well with two top 10 entries. Good work bro.

  3. Why anyone would say anything about your top ten list is beyond me! It’s YOUR list, right? Cigars are subjective, If I did a top ten list it would surely include some cigars that others would find questionable. Anyway, of the 3 or 4 on your list that I have smoked, the La Traviata Maduro was a dissapointment, although with all of the positives I’ve heard on this line I’m looking forward to trying them again. The Dirty Rat is a top 5 of all time for me, although I’ve only smoked pre-production samples, but I trust the production versions are identical. Keep up the good work and don’t feel the ned to appologize for your tastes!

    Happy Holidays!

    • Thanks Craig for the comment. I just felt the need to say that especially in the cigar world there is always someone looking to throw a punch lol. Glad you liked my list and I appreciate your support b

Great list Mike. I’d include some of these on my own top 10 (specifically #1, the Le Matin was amazing).

Thanks again and great work on the site this year!

  6. Thanks for the list Mike. I just got my hands on the La Traviata maduro. Will smoke it sometime this week. I really need to try the Illusione’s one day.

  7. Great list Mike,I have smoked six of the sticks on your list and all were great smokes. The Viaje is one I really want to try.

  8. I have smoked 8 of the ten on your list and I must say.You have good taste in cigars.
Thanks for a great year of reviews.

    Harry Holidays Mike.

  9. Love love the epernay line. Deinifetly one cigar line that I don’t mind paying a little extra for. Great list. I think your list is the first I have seen that does not have a cuban influence.

    • I have to admit there was no cuban influence on my list mostlly because I dont smoke a lot of cubans. Today most of your cigars are as good if not better the their cuban counterparts.

    • One of the best end of the years lists I’ve seen. I am not that familiar with your site but based on these choices I’m gonna be.

    • Marco I’m glad you like the list and my site. I’m very happy to have you as a viewer. Thanks
