CAO La Traviata Maduro

So I started my site with a review of a CAO cigar and decided to end the year with a review of the CAO La Traviata Maduro. This cigar has a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper with a Cameroon binder and Nicaraguan and Dominican filler. I admit I’m a fan of this cigar without giving away the review. Check it out and see my thoughts. Happy New Year to all.

  1. Great review, as always. I sure hope I can find some of these to try for myself ;-) Maybe next year.

Happy New Year to you and yours! I’m just as lucky to have my own rock here that has made me into who I am today, and I thank her every day for that.

    Keep up the non-shitty work!

  2. Nice review!!! And congrats on your year of reviews, as well!

    Happy New Year!

  3. As always, a concise, no bullshit review. I too like this smoke. Great for the price!

  4. Hey Mike nice review. Really enjoy the LT maddy. Everything about this cigar is great, from flavor profile to price point. Would like to wish you and your family a very happy and prosperous New Year.

  5. Two thumbs up here!! Happy New Year!

  6. I have not tried the maduro yet but I did buy 2 of them plus 2 with the Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. I did smoke one of those and it was excellent. I liked the review and the background was cool. It seemed like you cut yourself off when you were talking a few times but no big deal. Looking forward to another joint review!

  7. I have to agree with everybody above, great construction, nice flavor, awesome price… can’t go wrong… a box worthy IMO. Happy New Year BOTLs

  8. Finally picked it out of the humidor after letting it rest for a couple of weeks. Pleasant cherry-like taste on the pre-light draw. After the first puff I could tell that it was going to be, for me, much better than the original La Traviata – I just didn’t “get it” but it did nothing for me. Maybe I will try the Animados as I understand that this particular size might make a difference. In any case, the La Traviata Maduro was a much more enjoyable/flavorful smoke. Thanks for the review.

  9. This was a good stick. I have smoked three of them and my only consistent problem is that I keep having a canoing issue with them. I though after the first one that maybe it was a humidity problem with that particular shop but the other two I bought from another shop entirely, the third of which I let sit in my humidor for about a month before I light it up and had the same issue (though not as severe). I have one more sitting in the humidor for a bit longer and ill see how that one treats me. That was my only real complaint with it, the flavor was good and the price I paid was only around 6.50 at each shop. As always though I enjoyed the review
