La Aurora Broadway Series (NY Exclusive)
I’m reviewing today a cigar I was Gifted by Miami Cigars who have been very gracious to this site over the past year. Today its the La Aurora Broadway Series. This cigar has a dual wrapper of Ecuadorian Sumatra and Nicaraguan Habano. The filler is a variety of Dominican Republic,Nicaraguan and Peru. The binder has Dominican and Corojo. My La Aurora Broadway Series is a N.Y. exclusive and will only be found in N.Y. B&M. See below what I thought of this cigar. I want to thank everyone at Miami Cigars and La Aurora for the kindness and respect to me.
Shape- Sumo Toro
Wrapper-Ecudorian Sumatra/Nicaraguan Habano
Pre Light-This cigar has a really nice tan shiny wrapper to it. There are a few medium size veins that run from foot to the top of cap that are very noticeable. The sheen from wrapper is oily and almost crystal like. Smell from wrapper is tobacco and the foot gives off a spicy component. Cold draw is perfect just a tad snug. Notes of that tobacco are very noticeable as well as the spice.
1st Third- Right off the bat you are hit with an earthy note that only last for the first 1/2 inch of this cigar. When you get past this point the cigar comes to life with a nice mild pepper note on the retrohale and hints of spice and wood coats the palate. The ash really holds on good for about 1 inch before falling off just a really nice white ash.
Midway- This cigar is going great my only complaint would be that the vein that runs from foot to cap is very noticable in your mouth but it doesn’t effect the cigar at all. Notes of that mild white pepper remains through the nose and the wood is a nice cedar. The spice I can’t put my finger on it but it’s not a powerful spicy note. Every now and then I’m picking up a nice nutty note in the background more like a toasted nut. Burn continues to be perfect and the ash is strong. Lots of fresh smoke that leaves the air and your palate clean.
Final Third- I have to admit I’m digging this cigar the notes are very consistent from start to finish not really complex but there are good flavors. The cigar to me is a high medium body and strength. I’m still getting the mild pepper through the nose and the spice is kinda like a combination of a cinnamon and nutmeg spice. The cedar and the nut notes remain but are not as noticeable as the first half. The burn needed no attention from start to finish just perfect.
Conclusion- What more can I say I am thankful to have received this cigar for reviewing and I will be sure to buy some of these and keep in my humidor I really enjoyed this smoke. If you get the chance and are in N.Y. stop by your local B&M and pick some up you wont be disappointed. Hope you enjoyed the review and as always Enjoy Your Smokes.
