Today for your viewing pleasure I have the Illuminati Crusade. This cigar was gifted to me by Joel Sorrentino who is the Rep. in Florida for this cigar. The cigar is made by Rocky Patel for them and is composed of Nicaraguan binder and filler with a Habano Ecuador wrapper.
Let’s see what I thought of the Illuminati Crusade.
Pre Light-The cigar has the appearance of a nice chocolate bar with very minimal veins. There appears to be no blemishes or soft spots and it’s packed very nicely. Off the foot I’m picking up a licorice note and from the wrapper just tobacco. Cold draw is perfect with hints of the licorice.
1st Third-It started off with a hay and earthy notes. At about 3/4 of an inch in that hay note that I’m not a fan of went away and I started just getting the earthy note. Burn is going great and ash holds on for roughly 1/2 inch. So far the cigar is very one-dimensional.
Midway-Not much has changed except for I’m getting small hints of coffee in the back ground and the earth notes are the main components. The draw and burn are going really well and ash is a dark grey. I have to say this is a low medium body cigar and I’m hoping for some complexity.
Final Third-Well really no changes to me still getting the main earthy note with a little hint of coffee in the background. Burn is really good on this cigar and it produced lot’s of smoke.
Overall have to say this is a very one-dimensional cigar that for price point would like to see more complexity. If you haven’t tried this go out and give it a try to see what you get from it. I want to thank Joel for sending these and giving me the chance to review. I would like to try their other cigars to see what they offer. Remember Enjoy your Smokes.
