Perdomo Champagne Noir

Wrapper: Nicaragua

Binder: Nicaragua

Filler: Nicaragua

Size: 6×60

Pre Light

With have the name Noir in the title you can all but assume that this is going to be a cigar with a maduro wrapper. It is a nice dark brown color with no shade variations and no major veins running through it. The dark wrapper gives off an aroma of a sweet barnyard as does the foot. The head is triple capped and slices right off. The draw is very nice with that same sweet barnyard flavor along with some earthiness on the cold draw.

1st Third

After lighting up the cigar you are hit with some up front pepper which disappears after the first quarter inch is done. The first third’s flavors consist of a nice dry cedar and as you reach the end on the first inch and a half you are met with a rich coffee.

2nd Third

The ash holds on very well on this cigar well over 2 inches and is a nice white color. The burn has been nice and even not needing any touch ups through the first 2 thirds. The coffee flavor has remained in the second third and is met with a sweet chocolate flavor towards the end.

Final Third

Even as I pull into the end of the cigar it’s still putting off plenty of smoke and the burn has stayed even they entire way. The coffee and chocolate flavors blend very well together and a slight pepper comes in and out with every puff.

Overall

For a cigar with a price point around $6 it is well worth the price. Perdomo is a real treat in the industry making very good cigars and a very reasonable price point. The flavors and blended very well together and was very enjoyable. Make sure you have plenty to drink with this cigar because that dry wood flavor gives you some major cottonmouth. If you haven’t had a chance to smoke these get off your asses and get to it.

Keep em burnin’

  1. Glad to see a review of this Rob. I’ve been a big fan of the Perdomo Champagne for years and have been eagerly awaiting the release of this cigar. I know at this point it’s easy to find but no one around me seems to carry it, I know ed has them so it’ll probably be the first smoke I grab when I get to FL. Thanks for the great review, keep up the good work!

    • Glad to see u enjoyed the review. I really enjoyed smoking these and am definitely looking forward to pick more up

  2. Rob this is one of my favorite perdomo smokes event hough its a mild smoke I really enjoy the flavors. great review Bud.

  3. For a big stick I found the flavors to be there. Mike is right, a little milder than what I prefer but a welcomed change of pace. I actually happened to be in Miami a couple days after the cigar was released and passed by the Perdomo office. The boss was, unfortunately, not there that day but that’s where I purchased my Noir. It took me over 2 hours to finish it that evening. I like it and wonder how much more flavorful a smaller ring size would be. Thanks Rob.

    • I haven’t seen them in a smaller size but will definitely give them a try if they have them in a smaller ring gauge

  4. Great review! Champagne maddie looks DELISH!! I tried Perdomo Champagne and it was mellow and creamy with rich flavors. It seems that Perdomo Champagne Noir has more full-flavored character without a major increase in strength. Can’t wait to try this one!
