Drew Estate Undercrown
Capa: Otapan Negro Último Corte
Capote: T52 Connecticut River Valley Stalk Cut & Cured Habano
Tripa: Select Brazilian Mata Fina and Nicaraguan Cuban Seed
Size: 5×50
Pre Light
This cigar is very easy on the eyes with its even shade and seamless wrapper. The band is really nice looking and goes well with dark wrapper. The cigar is packed from head to foot and after I snipped the cap it still had a great draw. The cold wrapper and draw both had notes of sweet barnyard with hits of nuts.
1st Third
The Undercrown starts out very smooth with notes of earth and nuts. By the end of the first inch I am picking up a rich roasted coffee flavor that goes very well with the nuttiness. The ash seems to be holding on for a good period of time considering it is a pretty windy day.
2nd Third
Here in the middle portion of this smoke the flavors have really changed much with the nuttiness and coffee seemingly being the focus of the cigars profile. The burn and ash have been above my expectations considering the pre-fore mentioned wind.
Final Third
As we are wrapping up the Undercown I picked up a slight cocoa flavor in the final third to go along with the nut and coffee notes. Construction was excellent on each of the cigars I smoke for this review and it is definitely a knuckle burner.
Overall
I really enjoyed these cigars. Drew Estate has been hitting a lot of their recent releases outta the park and the Undercrown is no exception. I definitely need to get back out to my B&M and grab more of these. The flavor all though not complex were very enjoyable and worth the $7 price tag.
Keep em burnin’
Griff

Very nice. I really liked this cigar. As a self proclaimed LP9 Whore, it’s nice to see a cigar that could fill the spaces in my smoking habits with an easier to find, and much lower priced cigar.
