Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne

Today, instead of bringing you something new or hard to come by, I wanted to share with you one of my all time favorite cigars, the Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne Robusto. This 5 by 54 stick has a Connecticut wrapper and Nicaraguan Cuban seed binder and filler.

The light brown wrapper is silky smooth with absolutely no wrinkles, holes or pectin noticeable. It has a woody, earthy and sweet aroma. The cold draw is fairly loose and has notes of wood and honey.

The first notes that hit my palate are wood with a sweet, creamy finish. Coffee joins my palate very quickly. The draw is perfect right from the start producing plenty of creamy smoke. With each draw I first experience wood washing over my palate, then coffee with a hint of cinnamon, honey and finishing smooth and creamy. The burn is practically perfect as the first third finishes.

In the second third, coffee becomes the main player in the tasting notes, balanced with cream and caramel like sweet finish. Wood is subtly present mid draw along with hints of cinnamon. The ash holds on until about halfway and the burn remains perfect.

The sweetness and caramel drop off slightly and the notes of wood and coffee return as the main notes. The smoke remains creamy on the finish and in the retrohale. As I smoke through the final third, the coffee picks up in strength and all other notes, caramel, wood, coffee and cinnamon are very slight but still present. The final puffs on the cigar finish very creamy and smooth with hints of cinnamon once more.

For me there are many factors that make the Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne one of my favorite cigars. It is smooth, balanced and consistent. The consistency is not only limited to its flavors but the draw is always too notch, the burn is perfect and the quality of the wrapper is top of line. This is one cigar that in my eight years of smoking, I have never had any issues with. Ever. It’s no wonder it is one of the best selling Connecticuts on the market. It was the first mild cigar I ever smoked and since then you will often find me pairing it with a cup of coffee in the morning.

  1. Hey Christine how are you this beautiful morning on the East coast? I love this cigar and its my go to Morning Stick for sure, great flavor, burn and spot on with the construction. I do really enjoy it. Nice to see you doing a more available stick LOL great job love

  2. A very enjoyable smoke to go with a morning coffee, although it does fight for space with the EPC New Wave and AB American Classic. Great descriptive review, as always.

Always love your reviews! This cigar is just to mild for me. I agree with everything you said, just not for me.
