Rodrigo La Fortaleza
Wrapper: Dominican Republic
Binder: Dominican Republic
Filler: Dominican Republic
Size: Elegante 6 3/4 x 48
Pre Light
This cigar has a dark and very oily wrapper. The wrapper smells like shit and cocoa and it is wonderful lol. It has a slight pig tail cap and feels well packed from head to foot. The draw is open and free after snipping the cap and gives way to a slightly pepper and wood flavored cold draw.
1st Third
Lighting up the cigar the usual pepper you get on a Nicaraguan cigar is almost no existent on this Dominican Puro. The flavors I’m getting are wood with a slight tobacco undertone. There is a lot of smoke coming off of every draw.
2nd Third
The flavors are still focused on wood with the undertones changing from the tobacco to cocoa with a slight nut flavor. The burn is a little wavy but generally even and cool. There still a ton of smoke coming off the head and foot.
Final Third
The pepper kicks up in the final couple inches and the cocoa has become more relevant with the falling to the background. The burn stayed even all the way down to the end.
Overall
It seems like I enjoy everything that George puts out. The flavors were rich and well blended. The construction was well done. I don’t have any complaints about the cigar. I need to find more of these ASAP.
Keep em burnin’
Griff

I love these cigars Griff. I met up with George in NH and we smoked a few of these, went home with a box. Glad you liked them.
