Emilio Draig K
Wrapper: Colombian Cubanito Maduro
Binder: Unknown
Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan
Pre Light
The Draig has a very dark and oily wrapper which seems almost seamless. The band with its bright colors really stands out with the wrapper acting as a dark background. The unlit cigar smells like tobacco and spice. I use a straight cut and open up to a very free draw. There is an earthy flavor on the cold draw with a hint of spice.
1st Third
The cigar opens up with a slight spice and earthy undertones but quickly changes to a chocolate forefront. The cigar isn’t putting off much smoke and is really hot to the touch.
2nd Third
After knocking off the first bit of ash I realized what is making the cigar burn fast. There seem to be a whole going down the length of the cigar making it tunnel. The flavors are still chocolate with a slight herbal almost tea flavor on the aftertaste.
Final Third
Needed a few touch ups to reach this point but it was worth it. The chocolate seems to be the focal point of the cigar with the earthy and tea flavors filling in the background. The pepper turned back up the final inches to give you a little zing.
Overall
I enjoyed the flavors of the cigar. I did not however enjoy the construction of the cigar, bet hey there are always a few here and there that don’t always turn out perfect. The other cigar I smoked for this review didn’t have any issues so I doubt it’s a major issue. Gary has been coming out with some great cigars over the last year plus. Can’t wait to give a few more of these a try along with his other products.
Keep em burnin’

We knew, and stated at the time of release, that we may have some burn issues, but we were confident that the flavor would overcome those issues. Thanks for the review, and for you continued support of the industry
