Wynwood by CLE
Since the tradeshow, CLE has been in my radar. I have enjoyed every cigar in their catalog and have been impressed. They had 6 or 7 cigars right out the gate, each one bound to please various palates. The Wynwood 4 1/2 by 50 has become one of my regular cigars, which is why I chose it for today’s review. It has a beautiful Ecuadoran wrapper that is a smooth, velvety light brown encircling Honduran binder and filler.
The notes coming off the wrapper are wood, earth and maple syrup. The cold draw greets my palate with the same notes. Once lit I pick up wood, cinnamon, leather, oats with asmooth finish. Wood and leather are present on the front of and mid palate. Cinnamon lingers on the back of the palate with oats and cream for a smooth after taste. There is warm cinnamon in the retrohale.
In the second third, I start to pick up a slight syrupy sweetness mingled with the wood. The oats and cinnamon remain on the palate as well. The finish at this point is a bit more rich and earthy. There is plenty of smoke with cinnamon notes.
Into the final third, the cinnamon starts to warm the entire palate, with oats and wood on the finish. There isn’t much change of note through the finish.
The Wynwood is what I consider a great mild to medium cigar. It’s not incredibly complex but it is very flavorful and enjoyable. It is definitely one I would recommend for the palate favoring mild and medium sticks. It would also be a great cigar in the morning, paired with a cup of coffee.

Corey, it’s from the Wynwood Cigar Factory in Miami’s Wynwood art district. http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/cultist/2012/11/wynwood_cigar_factory_brings_w.php
I believe the casino and resort is just called Wynn Las Vegas (but I confess I know nothing about Vegas, lol).

I will have to seek this one out. I’ve had the CLE corojo, and enjoyed it quite a bit. Thanks Christine!

Thank you for the review Christine. I have had no experience yet with CLE. The cigar looked fantastic and looked like it burned really well. Sorry about your Broncos.

Just tried my 1st of these and I have to say it is a great morning stick. Mild to medium and very smooth. Thanks for the review. Yet another stick I will have to add to my collection.
