Perla del Mar
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
Size: 4 ¾ x 52
I think this is the first time I’ve had my review up on time in the past few months. I’m pretty proud of myself if I say so myself. This Connecticut shade wrapper is a little darker in my eyes to most Connecticut wrappers. There isn’t much oil on the wrapper either. The band is nice looking with a blue, gold trim and a black and white portrait of 2 old ships. The cold wrapper smells sweet with a light pepper and the cold draw on this little smoke gives a grassy and earthy flavor.
The cigar opens up with a light pepper along with some dry grass/hay notes and gives periods of rich soil every few puffs. The burn is cool and it puts off a lot of smoke.
I start to pick up a nutty coffee flavor towards the middle of the cigar to go along with the grassy flavors. The burn is still relatively even and cool. The room aroma of the smoke is pleasant and airy even though it seems heavy in the air. If that makes any sense.
Seems like this cigar flew by, maybe cause it was just over 4 inches long. The final third got a little spicier but not much. No touch up or relights were needed for the cigar which is always a plus for me.
I enjoyed this smoke and wanna give them a try in a bigger size to see if anything changes. I also wanna thank everyone for the inquiries on the humidors and they have both been sold. Thanks again to everyone for your support over here at Mike’s stogies.
Keep em burnin’
