Pre Light

The sexiest man in cigars is back!

After searching all over the inter webs for the construction of the cigar I couldn’t find any definite answers.  Every site I visited gave a different make up to the cigar.  So I didn’t wanna just take a guess.  The wrapper is a light oil shade with only a few small veins running through it.  Taking a few cold draws off the fresh punch cut I get sweet earthy flavors.  The aroma off the wrapper is sweet and shitty.

1st Third

At the initial light I received I slight pepper kick but nothing too intense.  I then started to pick up notes of cocoa and earth.  The burn was straight and cool with a light gray ash.

2nd Third

I picked up a lot more flavors in the second third.  I got notes of earthy, nuts, cocoa and finally towards the middle of the cigar and rich coffee flavor.  Towards the end of the second third the sweetness really took over.  The ash on this cigar was a complete mess, it feel on my shirt three separate times already and I’m only 2/3’s done.

Final Third

The sweetness really is the focal point in the final third with a hint of floral notes.  The burn stayed cool and didn’t need to be relit throughout the experience.

Overall

I enjoyed the flavors of the cigar but the construction was kind of a buzz kill. The cigar did stay lit throughout but the ash was continually messy.  I don’t know about the price point either.  Twenty bucks is a little pricey for me if the cigar doesn’t hit on all cylinders of flavor, construction and complexity.

Keep em burnin’

  1. Great review Griff and glad to see you back in action! I’m a fan of Perdomo sticks I think they normally are a great smoke for the price, although I have never seen a stick of theirs in this Price Range! Not sure if I would pick it up or not. Great job buddy
